Tinkering Day - Coming November 2008
Tinkering Day, part of John Ratzenberger’s Discovery & Invention event, will feature interactive exhibitions designed to plant the seeds of discovery and invention. Participants will imagine, build, fix and create at various workstations that are sponsored by some of America’s best manufacturers, machinists, tradesmen, technical programs and more. From introducing a child to the experience of assembling a Chopper, building a birdhouse, the inner-workings of a robot, to an adult discovering the exhilaration of operating a bulldozer, Tinkering Day is intended to expose all ages to the excitement and benefits of the manual arts. Each participant will walk away with a better understanding of the process of creation and innovation, providing them with a genuine feeling of accomplishment and a working knowledge and comprehension of the industrial arts industry, helping to once again restore esteem to an honorable profession. They will remember the lessons learned here for years to come because it's fun! There's something for tinkerers of every experience level, big or small.
