#GivingTuesday Goal: $10k for MFG Scholarships

Now that the Thanksgiving feasting is over, and the Black Friday frenzy has come to a close, we’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who has helped Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs in the past year. Whether you’ve donated to our scholarship fund or supported our grant program for summer manufacturing camps; we couldn’t have accomplished all this good without you.

More importantly, the school-aged children who attended those camps and learned to use CAD software or assembled their own creations from prototype to final product wouldn’t have had those opportunities if you hadn’t made a donation. The aspiring college and trade school students beginning their educational journeys in manufacturing engineering or welding would not have received the much needed funds we award each semester without your help.

Each year we encourage students to apply for our scholarship program and we typically receive ten times more applications than we have scholarships to award. The need for skilled workers in the American manufacturing industry is great -and the demand for these scholarships is growing.

That’s why we’re doing something altogether new to us, and we’re hoping you’ll help us give even more scholarships in 2016. We are trying to raise $10,000 for next year’s scholarship applicants.

The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is called #GivingTuesday, and it is part of a global movement to create a day of giving at the start of the holiday season. Families, communities, companies, and organizations all over the world are donating to charities on Giving Tuesday, and sharing their stories (and their charities of choice) via social media.

From now until the end of the year, you can make a tax-deductible donation here, and support the future of Manufacturing by sending young people to school to learn a skilled trade. Thank you for being a part of our foundation’s effort to educate the manufacturers of tomorrow; have a wonderful holiday and a happy New Year.
