NBT is thrilled to share that Nestlé USA, in support of its commitment to empower and prepare the next generation to thrive and make their impact, will be the national sponsor of all 2022 NBT summer manufacturing camps, including the new inclusion camps designed for young people with disabilities.

Nestle USA

Through its partnership with NBT, Nestlé will expand its efforts to inspire and prepare the next generation of creators in manufacturing, help reduce the skilled labor gap in the U.S., increase the number of students enrolling in technical and vocational schools, and help reshape how Americans view modern manufacturing careers. “Helping people gain hands-on work experience and strengthen their skills beyond the classroom is a key priority at Nestlé,” said Judy Cascapera, Chief People Officer, Nestlé North America. “We’re excited to work with partners like NBT as we continue to engage future talent and create access to opportunities and future apprenticeships in manufacturing.”

NBT is supporting 174 manufacturing camps and two inclusion camps held at schools throughout the U.S. and Canada this summer. It’s at these camps where many students discover their passion for working with their hands by designing and creating products using equipment and methods such as welding, robotics, 3D printing, CNC machining, and other manufacturing-related projects. The camps provide students with the opportunity to tour local manufacturing companies, work directly with advanced technologies, and design and manufacture a product they can take home.

Since 2005, NBT has awarded nearly $1.7 million in camp grants to support the future of manufacturing.

2022 Camps Are Just Around the Corner

Schools across the U.S. and Canada are preparing to host NBT manufacturing camps this summer to help create a pipeline of students who are inspired to pursue rewarding careers in manufacturing. Find a camp near you!

First Inclusion Manufacturing Camps to Take Place in 2022

Despite a delayed launch due to the COVID-19 pandemic, NBT is planning two Inclusion Camps this summer to help train and prepare young adults with disabilities for manufacturing jobs. With grant funding through Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation (MEAF), and in coordination with school and agency partners, NBT is holding an inclusion camp at Triton College in River Grove, Illinois, in June and a second Inclusion Camp at Valley Packaging Industries in Appleton, Wisconsin, starting in July.

Conducted over a four-week period, each camp will introduce both soft skills and hard skills curricula, customized to the participants, and serve approximately 12-15 individuals. Agency partners for the camp being held at Triton College are headquartered in the greater Chicagoland area and include Trinity Services, Helping Hand Center, and Clearbrook. Valley Packaging Industries (VPI) is a community rehabilitation center that provides a variety of human services and vocational skills training to Fox Valley (WI) residents and manufacturing-related business services to private industry.
