ELGIN, Ill. – Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs® (NBT), the Foundation of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, Int’l. (FMA), announced that Mastercut Tool Corp. is the recipient of the 2022 Impact on Industry Award. The honor was revealed during the NBT Awards Gala in Des Plaines, Illinois.

In 2015, Mastercut created the Manufacturing Education 5K that brought together employees from around the world to impact the skills gap by changing how youth think about manufacturing careers. The inaugural event was started by Mastercut employees, in cooperation with the Shaluly Foundation LLC, who distributed all proceeds from the event to local and national manufacturing-focused organizations such as NBT. To date, the race has raised over $160,000 benefiting NBT and other foundations working to promote careers in manufacturing.

“The enthusiasm demonstrated by the entire Mastercut Tool Corp. team is at the heart of what this recognition means,” said Ed Dernulc, NBT Foundation Director. “We are honored to recognize them for creating an event that not only helps lift up manufacturing throughout their community, but is contributing to an evolving national conversation on the importance of manufacturing careers.”

The Impact on Industry award recognizes a corporation or business that has created a culture of philanthropy within their organization. The award recipient demonstrates an outstanding commitment to the metals manufacturing industry through its financial support, leadership involvement, and volunteer participation of its workforce, thereby establishing a role model for other companies in the industry.
