ELGIN, Ill. – Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs® (NBT), the Foundation of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, Int’l. (FMA), celebrated its annual awards gala in Des Plaines, Illinois on October 20. Presented by AMADA AMERICA, Inc., the gala marked one of the largest fundraising events in its history, generating over $79,000 to benefit NBT programs.
The NBT Awards Gala highlights those who donate their time, energy and resources, as well as those who are impacted by the program’s mission. Approximately 140 guests took part in a silent auction, live auction and paddle raise event that helped reach the new fundraising benchmarks. Proceeds are invested into expanding NBT camps and scholarships that will take place in 2023 and beyond.
“We knew there was an enthusiastic audience ready to contribute to the continued growth of our programs,” said Ed Dernulc, NBT Foundation Director. “However, our expectations were surpassed by the guests’ donations that evening and their unbelievable generosity.”
The Power of Industry, Impact on Industry, and Future of Industry awards were presented to the individual, corporation, and camp host partner, respectively, to recognize their support of NBT throughout 2022. Megan Gerl, Vice President of Community Events, VPI, Inc. was also on hand to share her experience working with the foundation to launch a new Inclusion Manufacturing Camp, aimed at providing adults with disabilities skills training and opportunities to work in thriving manufacturing careers.
