One Fabulous Day on the Course means more Scholarships and Summer Camps for Students

Thank you for making the 3rd annual GOLF4MFG event a success!

Monday, Aug. 24 marked the third annual Golf4MFG fundraiser benefitting the programs of Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs (NBT), the foundation of FMA. 84 golfers played on the Arnold Palmer course at Geneva National Resort in Lake Geneva, Wis. NBT appreciates the corporate sponsors that made this event possible: Turner Construction, Mitsubishi Laser, FREEMAN, CNA, Hawkeye Energy Solutions, and Northland Laser.

The day started off with a morning tour to Dalco Metals in Walworth, Wis. This one-stop resource for steel processing features a fully-automated laser with storage tower. Upon return, Geneva National’s golf pro shared her tips to hone in some last minute skills before hitting the links. Lunch was served in the pavilion, followed by the shotgun start.

Our players spent the rest of the day enjoying strategic golf through the natural wetlands and water features of the Palmer course.  Prizes were awarded and dinner was served in the Trevino room where NBT recognized three donor companies with a “Big Check” presentation. A very special thank you to the CNA Foundation, Kelly Services, and Production Tube Cutting Inc. for their generous gifts. And to Turner Construction for donating their foursome to veterans of the armed forces.

Congratulations to the winning team of the golf scramble consisting of Craig Summers, Gregg Simpson, Sarah Richards, and Troy Berg. Other contest winners are Tim Triplett with the Straightest Drive, Dave Kennedy got Closest to the Pin, Sarah Richards with the Longest Drive, and Tim Knauf with the Longest Putt. The kids who participate in NBT summer manufacturing camps and the young adults who can start training for their manufacturing careers because of an NBT scholarship were the real winners. Thank you to everyone who participated and believes in the mission of the foundation. If you were not able to join us, please consider making a tax-deductible charitable donation of your own.
