Top 3 Reasons You Should Participate in the Processors Auction

  1. You’ll be supporting the next generation of metals industry professionals. For the 6th consecutive year, the Outside Processors Council (OPC) will host this silent auction of donated items and services used by metal processing companies or individuals. Auction proceeds are directed to the John Grossheim Memorial Scholarship, awarded to students seeking a degree in manufacturing, specifically the metals industry. Priority consideration is granted to FMA/OPC members and their children.

  1. It’s a Win-Win-Win situation! When your company donates a service, item, or cash to the auction, you get great exposure to your target audience and you can claim it as a charitable contribution. (Win!) When you place a winning bid, you’ll be buying something you were going to purchase anyway, often at below market value. (Win!) Worthy students pursuing careers in manufacturing receive scholarships to help them pay for their college education, adding much-needed skilled labor to the workforce. (Win!)
  1. It’s fun and easy to participate. Items already donated include pickling services from Heidtman Steel/FCP, Ohio Pickling & Processing, and Voss Taylor/Voss Clark; customized on-site slitting training; half-page ad in American Metal Market; University of Michigan football tickets; and more. You can donate and place bids directly through our website – online bidding is open NOW! The auction will conclude at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 29 at the Motor City Slitters annual golf outing/reception (Southfield, Mich.). You do not need to be present to win.
