Nathan is a casting engineer at Central Motor Wheel of America in Kentucky — and a scholarship alumnus of Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs® (NBT). The road that took him from his home in Nebraska to school in South Dakota and then to his first job in Kentucky also included a journey to Japan.
Michael Shaluly, owner of Mastercut Tool Corp, saw the writing on the wall. Workers are aging and there are not enough youthful applicants. He realized that’s not a long-term sustainable model for any company or industry. To turn the tide, he knew he had to connect with the educational community and other employers in his area to build interest in manufacturing careers.

Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs® (NBT), The Foundation of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International® (FMA), announces plans to establish a new fund, the Board Chairs’ Endowment. This endowment fund, which will monetarily support the summer manufacturing camp grant program, will be funded through gifts bestowed by past chairs of the boards of directors of NBT, FMA, and the Tube & Pipe Association, International® (TPA).
